Playwrights Workshop
Saturdays, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, Dec 10 – Mar 17
10 weeks

After an introductory orientation, members will bring in a one-minute exercise each week as well as material from a longer project. The workshop focus is on the structure of dramatic writing, emphasizing conflict and character objectives, letting dialogue and characterization grow out of structure. Since crafting a play is a collaborative process, participants are asked to share their work and also to offer comments which will help the other playwrights achieve what they are trying to accomplish.
There will be three sessions, each with nine meetings – Fall (September to November); Winter (December to February); Spring (March to April); plus a public presentation in May of the playwrights’ work.
Limited to 8.
