John Pizzarelli and his wife, Jessica Molaskey are streaming live on Facebook this evening.  Entitled,  It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere, John and Jessica have been doing a live stream every Thursday and donating proceeds to non-profits. Tonight they will be mentioning Arts on the Lake! Tune in on Facebook at,

Last February they performed at AotL for a fundraiser that was packed. We are so thankful for their support!

Virtual and Reopening

We are working on reopening parts of our programing as we can - of course with safety first in mind. In the mean time we have started our Virtual Programs. Please enjoy and feel free to give us feed back and suggestions. --Ed Durkee

Plays of the Weeks

As the AotL Theatre Program gears up to make some connection between what we're going through and how it - maybe differently - affects us all, we note that the newest and most moving theatre is being produced and written for a medium we hadn't heard of nine months ago - Zoom.

This past week (7/8/20) The Public Theater (NYC) premiered a harrowing The Line (now thru 9/1). You can see a review here or click the link just above to start viewing.

And the week before, playwright Richard Nelson put up And So We Come Forth: A Dinner on Zoom, his second new play on the Apple Family of Rhinebeck, NY, now meeting in quarantine. They're like our neighbors.

New (7/21)! If you’re missing Shakespeare in Central Park, it is available here and here. Shut down by the pandemic, a stellar cast and director Saheem Ali reimagined Richard II – it’s about a rough transfer of power - as a radio play over four nights on WNYC.

And (7/30) "medium famous" comic Hannibal Buress previewed in NYTimes posts new special Miami Nights. -- James Shearwood

ARTIST RELIEF: Grants for Artists

ARTIST RELIEF is providing grants to artists during the COVID-19 crisis. This coalition of national arts grantmakers have come together to create an emergency initiative to offer financial and informational resources to artists across the United States.

All activities are on hold

In light of the current state of emergency, all activities are being postponed at Arts on the Lake as March 17. Because we are a hub for so many events, classes and groups we would like to stay in touch with all of our members and supporters during this crisis. If you are in need of help, food or anything please let us know via email or phone and we will try to assist you or get you in touch with someone who can. In this time of isolation it is important for all of us to stay in contact with neighbors and friends. Stay safe and practice social distancing for the good of all.

Pizzarelli Concert Cancelled - To be Rescheduled

A Sad Announcement

It is with great sadness, that we learned of the recent passing of Don Longabucco. Don and Rita have been mainstays of Arts on the Lake since its beginning. Don was a wonderful artist whose collages are in the collections of many throughout our community. His humor, gentle manner and wry smile will be sorely missed. If you would like make donations in memory of Don, Rita asks that you do so either to St. Jude's Hospital or Arts on the Lake. Rita will be letting us know when a gathering to remember Don will be scheduled.

The Kent Library will be exhibiting his  wonderful art work during the month of January.
