A New Art Exhibition
My Kingdom for a Horse is the second of three visual art exhibitions, curated by Alex Sewell, to be held this summer at Arts on the Lake in Kent, NY. The show highlights selected paintings and drawings by Seth Becker (Venus Over Manhattan), Ben Cowan, (Deanna Evans Projects), Zorowar Sidhu (Petzel, National Gallery of Art, MOMA), and Kevin Connolly Gillespie (Rockefeller Center).
Alex Sewell of Idea Machine and curator of the exhibition, stated: ‘My Kingdom for a Horse’ deals with the concept of municipal, community and individual participation. How accessible are the areas we call home? And can we navigate our communities with freedom, autonomy and safety? We invite you to explore your own feelings of community agency whilst viewing our subtle yet chromatic paintings – what’s around the corner but is currently inaccessible?
Please join us Friday, July 18th, from 6-8 pm, for the opening reception with the artists. Come have a refreshment, take in the art, and ask questions alongside other patrons and appreciators of the arts. The exhibition will run from July 18th – August 22th.
Gallery is open on weekends from 1 to 4 PM between July 18 and August 22.
