Americana in Summertime
Our Classical Music Series continues with Sarah Davis, a lyric soprano, currently based in South Florida. Ms. Davis will be accompanied by Emma Luyendik on the piano.
She recently completed a Performance Diploma at the Boston University Opera Institute, in the studio of Penelope Bitzas. With the Opera Institute, performing highlights included Beth March in Mark Adamo's Little Women, Die Frau in Arnold Schönberg's Erwartung, and Selena in Jake Heggie’s If I Were You. During her time at BU, she also won the Boston University Soloist Competition, concluding in a performance of Alban Berg's Sieben frühe Lieder with the Boston University Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Jamie Burton.
Sarah has performed as Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus with Music On Site Inc., Countess Almaviva in W.A. Mozart’s in Le nozze di Figaro with the NEMPAC Opera Project, and as Erste Dame in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte with North Carolina Opera.
She was also named a semi-finalist in the 2021 Orpheus Vocal Competition student category, and an Encouragement Award winner in 2021 and 2022 in the Florida district of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.
She will be presenting a program that encompasses a number of styles of music.
