Volunteer
Arts on the Lake is sustained by its volunteers. Volunteers distribute posters, manage concessions, sell tickets, wash cups, hang shows, help with classes, organize concerts, fund-raise and stack chairs at the end of most performances.
You can be an occasional volunteer or a regular volunteer. Occasional volunteers print flyers from our website and invite their neighbors to participate in activities sponsored by Arts on the Lake.
Generally, anything that needs to be done at the Center can be done by a volunteer. Some of our most needed tasks have been done by a volunteer who offered to clean that corner, fix that faucet, repair that chair and write that story.
Volunteer Days
The first Thursday (6-8 pm) and the third Saturday (11:15-1:15) of each month are usually times for catching up with the work that needs to be done to keep the Center running. Available volunteers can email rsvp@artsonthelake.org in advance, but drop-ins can help as well.
To become a regular volunteer at Arts on the Lake —
- Introduce yourself to House Manager Patricia Bolgosano as someone who would like to set up before shows, help seat the audience and clean up afterwards.
- Introduce yourself to Concessions Manager Patricia Sebastian as someone who will occasionally sell or bake refreshments for events.
- Introduce yourself to Technical Director Ed Durkee as someone who can work on the crews for music and theatre productions.
- Introduce yourself to Acting Executive Director James Shearwood as someone who has experience in office management, public relations, fund-raising or other tasks in running a growing arts center.
Admission is always waived for House, Concessions and Technical Volunteers working on shows.
