Friday, February 28, 2020 at 7:00 pm

Coming soon to Arts on the Lake

Please note that due to illness, Dale DeMarco and Peter Tomlinson will be playing this evening

The Feehan Jazz Series moves to Friday nights and starts with this excellent performance.  Stepping in this evening due to an illness in the Harris family are Dale DeMarco and Peter Tomlinson, both highly respected jazz players.

Dale DeMarco- Sax

From his first road gig while in the 10th grade working with the Cleveland Orchestra, Dale has been on the front lines backing a who's who of notable musicians. He has also kept a busy schedule fronting his own bands featuring his woodwind and vocal abilities and has been the leader of the Gene Krupa II Orchestra. He is an alumni of the "West Point Band" and played for stars such as Lou Rawls and Tony Bennett.

Peter Tomlinson - Piano

Since 1990, Peter has been an adjunct professor at Western Connecticut. In 2006, he joined the Music Department at Vassar College. Peter has studied with Barry Harris, Armen Donelian and Warren Bernhardt.

Recordings include albums with Grammy Award winner Jay Ungar, “The Lover’s Waltz”, Mark Dziuba, “Son of Cramdon” and Nancy Donnelly, “Lyrics From The Heart”. Of Peter’s own albums, “Momentum” on the Compose label, featured musicians include Dick Oatts, Dave Douglas and Jimmy Cobb. Jazz Times Magazine says, “He’s talented, lyrical, imaginative, and swinging- all the necessary attributes of a fine pianist.” Peter’s 2003 album, “For Evans’ Sake”, is a duo with guitarist Peter Einhorn. Jim Hall wrote “ It’s amazing… I loved it!” In 2007 he recorded with singer Bar Scott and bassist Lou Pappas, “ A Little Dream”. Other musicians Peter has worked with include Ron Carter, Hubert Laws, Laurel Masse, jazz tap legend Honi Coles, and singer/songwriter Natalie Merchant. Performances include the Bel Aire Music Festival, American Dance Festival at Delacourte Theater, the Maverick concert series, and many college appearances. He is a highly sought out leader for small jazz combos, as well as sideman and accompanist to jazz vocalists.

We hope to have scheduled performers Bill and Patti Harris return another time.
