Summer Concert Series: Old Town Hall Band

Friday, July 8, 2016 at 7:00 pm

Coming soon to Arts on the Lake

We will be swinging to the music inside tonight.

Sponsors please let us know if you are attending so we may reserve your seats!

Starting off the 2016 Summer Concert Series is the Old Town Hall Band. Based in Newton, CT, they are in their eighth season associated with the well-known Flagpole Radio Cafe.

The band covers a lot of musical ground, but favors bluegrass and acoustic swing jazz.

Having performed with Peter Yarrow (Peter, Paul and Mary), Livingston Taylor, Tom Chapin, Jonathan Edwards, Ramblin' Jack Elliot, Dar Williams, Guy Davis and Vaneese Thomas, the band includes: Jim Allyn (guitar/mandolin),
Francine Wheeler (guitar/lead vocal), Howie Bujese (fiddle), Richard Neal (Banjo/Guitar), Greg Burrows (percussion), and Rick Brodsky (upright bass).

An audience favorite when they appeared here in 2014, they are remembered for high energy performances and enjoyable, light-hearted stage banter.

About the Concerts

The concerts are outdoors on the north lawn at the Arts Center. Bring lawn chairs or blankets and you are welcome to bring food and beverages. Refreshments and some picnic food will be available for purchase.

In the event of rain, the concert will be held indoors at the Center.

The concerts for the Summer Series are all pay-what-you-wish events provided for the community.

The four concerts this year are:

July 8 - Old Town Hall Band

July 15 - Arts on the Lake Jazz Ensemble

July 22 - Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra

July 29 - Everett Bradley

About the Event

These concerts are made possible, in part, by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the NY State Legislature. In Putnam County this grant program is managed and monitored by the Putnam Arts Council.
