A Friends of Classical Music Event

Members of The Revolutionary Brass Quintet, comprised of musicians at home in classical, jazz or popular music, have played with the Boston Symphony, the Royal and Bolshoi Ballet orchestras, with Harry James, Frank Sinatra, Donna Summers, Blood Sweat and Tears, at the Presidential Inaugural Ball, The Emmy Awards, and the legendary Willam Vacchiano of the New York Philharmonic.


The program for this event includes: Concerto selections of Bach and Vivaldi, the Hungarian Dance No. 5 of Brahms, the Turkish Rondo of Mozart, the Carmen Suite by Bizet, works by Puccini and Korsakov, a Jazz Medley and music by contemporary American composer, James M. Stephenson.


In addition to their commitment to excellence in performing, the Revolutionary Brass Quintet are active in education bringing an eclectic mix of music into schools, and providing master classes.

Louise Baranger, Trumpet, studied with Harold "Pappy" Mitchell and Uan Rasey, two former first trumpets at the MGM Studios, as well as jazz trumpeter Bobby Shew and the legendary William Vacchiano.

She’s appeared live and in television, film, and videos with Bobby Womack, Joe Cocker, Frank Sinatra, and many others. Louise’s new CD, The Great American Groove Book is due for release in the fall of 2015.

Daniel Duncan, Trumpet, is an active teacher and freelance musician in the New England area. He received a Graduate Diploma with Distinction from the New England Conservatory of Music.Daniel has performed with many orchestras throughout the country; he was principal trumpet with the 75th Anniversary Tour of Porgy & Bess and was principal trumpet of the Key West Symphony for their first 4 years.

Barbara Reineke, Horn, is an active freelance player, frequently performing in orchestras throughout Connecticut and New York including Yonkers Phiharmonic Orchestra (principal horn since 1997),and the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra. Other orchestra appearances include concerts with the Waterbury Symphony, Greater Bridgeport Symphony, etc. Barbara holds a Bachelor of Music (with distinction) from the Eastman School of Music where she studied with Verne Reynolds.


Jens Wendelboe, Trombone, is an internationally recognized award-winning composer, orchestrator, conductor and trombonist. Jens had the honor to be Music Director and conductor for Donna Summer for over 22 years.He joined the legendary group, Blood, Sweat and Tears in 2006. Jens also held positions such as Conductor and arranger of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. Mr. Wendelboe has performed with such artists as Shakira, Aretha Franklin, Al Jarreau and many more.

Allison Lazur, Tuba, has explored various aspects of the arts, including work in the art of baking as well as life on stage as a performer. She returned to school in 2011 to pursue life as a tubist, graduating with a degree in Tuba Performance from the Hartt School in West Hartford, CT. She is currently a member of the Hartford Independent Chamber Orchestra (HICO), which performs new music of all genres throughout the state of Connecticut.
