Basic Drawing For Teens And Tweens

This series of 5 workshops is for children who are ready to move from “kid’s art” to learning more sophisticated and technical aspects of drawing and composition. The children will experiment with concepts such as shading and chiaroscuro, proportion and perspective, line and shape, and form and composition. They will practice drawing realistically using both still life arrangements and reference photographs. They will also create contour drawings and free form drawings with pen and ink.
All materials will be provided.
For children aged 10-15.

About the Instructor
Mary Schreiber
Mary Schreiber holds an M.S. from Bank Street College of Education. She has led classes for both adults and children in collage, mask-making, drawing, painting, and sculpture. Her art work incorporates various media, including sculpture, drawing and puppetry.
