Intensive Painting with Alex Shundi

Tuesdays, 10:30 am – 4:30 pm, Apr 11 – May 30

8 weeks

Oil painting in progress

A new session of this excellent class is starting April 2

Intensive Painting is a unique class that meets once a week for 6 hours for 8 weeks for a total of 48 hours of instruction time. Through discussing and demonstration of technique with each student, Alex Shundi brings his remarkable understanding, capabilities  and teaching to this class. This class has a number of students that have attended his class over a period of years because of the growth they have experienced in the work.

This class will explore the human condition through individual development of ideas with discussions on formation of concept, approaches and materials. The class is designed for students regardless of disciplines chosen: landscape, figure, still life, abstract, etc. Students should bring whatever medium is preferred and whatever previous work they would like to discuss and present.

During the class, individual instruction is given with an emphasis on the student enhancing new ways of seeing and understanding their work. In addition Mr. Shundi provides an Art History "lesson" where he shows and discusses different artist's work so as to continue exposing the students to numerous artists both well known and relatively unknown.

The Reflectionists, a cooperative of artists formed by the students of Alexander Shundi, exhibits twice a year. Those in the class are included in the exhibit and encouraged to show what they have been working on.

A new session will start on April 2,  2024. The class is Tuesdays 10:30am to 4:30pm.

Payment terms are available for this class
